Easy like Saturday morning

My darling with his new book, 27/01/2018

Life feels so busy sometimes doesn’t it. Then along comes the weekend to whisk you away to a never never land of chill and sleep ins, a night out, perhaps a shopping spree if it’s just after payday, and so, the utopian dream of life might be like, if you didn’t have to work Monday-Friday!

Ruben and I are in the rare position of having the flat we share with another couple to ourselves πŸ™‚ Ruben is reading and I’m cleaning, writing the blog, calling my mum, sipping on the best cup of tea and catching up with good friends and their lives. A little bit of multi tasking going on! But all very relaxed multi tasking.

I just wanted to share the sentiment that it really is the simple things in life. We are not washed, my hair is greasy, and I am acutely aware that listening to songs via you tube has taken me 2 hours, but it all just feels like blissful luxury to me!

Our bedroom overlooks a garden and neighbouring gardens, all 30 foot long and full of trees, garden sheds, overgrown gardens, some kept well and some not: but I can sit on my bed and overlook the garden and it makes me feel as though I am in Hampstead and a world away from the hustle and bustle of my working week πŸ™‚

Plans for today? No concrete plans! Everything is totally fluid, which for those of you who know me well is actually very unusual! I’ve just been really tired this week and I am therefore trying to listen to my body which is telling me to slow things right down! My half marathon “training” isn’t going so well and that’s causing me some anxiety, but trying to override my thoughts and come up with a game plan instead. Onwards!

Wishing you all a great weekend xx
